Manufacturing progress through 4 bike generations
Fika Mobility's evolution over the past two years demonstrates significant experience and traction in electric motorcycle manufacturing and assembly. The company has rapidly iterated through four generations of bikes, each improving on the last:
POC (2020-21)
The initial HUB Motorprototype focused on basic functionality, mainly battery range. Fika quickly realised the need to develop a mid drive enging
Generation 1 (2021-22)
Redesigned the structure into a Mid-drive one of the first to do so in Kenya ensuring a a smoother power distribution through the bike, keeping the enging and electronics setup. Improved range and performance, introduced battery swapping.
Generation 2 (2023)
Enhanced durability for African roads, improved load capacity.
Generation 3 (2024)
A major leap forward in design and performance: a a larger battery pack, more enhance features both on the EV and design, achieving more range, more accurate real-time date and faster charging - launching in October 2024
Fika's rapid progression through three generations in just two years showcases the company's agility, learning capacity, and commitment to product improvement.
This iterative approach, combined with real-world feedback from their deployed fleet, positions Fika as an experienced and innovative player in the African electric motorcycle market.
Gen 4 bike specifications
This fourth-generation bike demonstrates Fika's commitment to innovation and adaptation to local conditions. The robust frame, high ground clearance, and substantial payload capacity are specifically designed for African roads and commercial use. The mid-mounted motor provides excellent balance and performance, while the advanced MCU ensures efficient power management.
The integration of smart features like the Bluetooth-enabled dashboard and electronic security system shows Fika's focus on user experience and vehicle security. The swappable battery system addresses range anxiety and charging infrastructure limitations, a crucial factor for commercial riders.
